Tech Week Remix 35 – Google Buys Motorola Mobility, HP Announces Shift Away From Hardware

lyrics:
Some pretty big developments this week
Google scoops up Motorola Mobility
at 12.5 billion, in a move to defend android
from the patent suits buildin’

with 14,600 patents granted
6,700 pending, Google defending
their hardware partners, their all down with it
android open and free, still a licensee

Quit hardware business, HP thinks it’s time
announced plans to spin off or sell their PC line
killing the TouchPad at the same time
promising to find what’s next for WebOS

and not abandon it all
rather focusing on improving the ecosystem
more apps for the catalog, devices support
interested to see how it all gets sorted

Tech Week Remix 34 – Defcon 19, Kid Hacks Games, CDMA & WiMax Hacked, HTC & Beats

Man it was on last week at Defcon
with dualcore near rocked 303 ’til dawn
But, what made headlines was Defcon Kids,
when 10 y/o CyFi showed off her tricks

demonstrated tactics
to hack games with loopholes in their time-based aspects AND
CDMA & 4G WiMax hacked
with a nasty Man In the Middle attack

custom packets injected in the data stream
forced popups displayed on the user screen
androids and PCs hit with a root-kit
data compromised, decoded packets

over the WiMax band,
confirmed report by the one Coderman
at 51% for 309 Mill
It’s officially a wrap on the deal

HTC takes stake in Beats Electronics
the Jimmy Lovine and Dre founded
well known for their consumer headphones
Beats tech head HTC phones

Tech Week Remix 33 – Twilio goes VoIP, Fox gets stingy, Mango goes RTM and the VP8 patent pool

Twilio, Dev tool for voice and SMS
conference calls, equips sites with customer service
Adds voice over IP
and whether VoIP to phone or VoIP to VoIP
calls are quarter of a penny

Beginning August 15th Fox declares
none of their shows to web, day after air
They want you to wait eight days
pshaw! I’ll get my Fringe fix in other ways

Mango update goes RTM
the first major update to Windows Phone Seven
Slated for release this Fall
Improved multi-tasking, better browsing and all

Video codec for Google’s webM
VP8′s openness open to debate
MPEG LA called out to those who hold patents
Compiled a list, but saying who’s on it they haven’t

And I’d just like to say
Happy belated System Admin Day

Tech Week Remix 32 – Amazon Tablet, Spotify, New MacBook Airs

An android tablet to come from amazon
This October, you know the heat is on
To be about 9 inches with no camera
Without that i hope they undercut the iPad

The UK based music streaming service
Spotify finally hits the US
Rolling out invites beginning on thursday
Free monthly tier, 20 hours of play
Of whatever you want, all the majors on board
for $10, go mobile and you lose ad support

And there’s a $5 plan, where you don’t have ads,
But you don’t get access with mobile apps
In apple news, New MacBook airs are coming
word on the street is later next week

And Reuters reports
TSMC becomes a vendor
for Apple Arm Chips, weening off of Samsung
Probably for all the drama that their legal team brung

Not to mention that their mobile hardware rocks

Tech Week Remix 31 – Netflix Price Increase

yesterday, Netflix lost some fans
splitting up their streaming and DVD plans
Instead of 10 for both, now it’s 8 for each
so to keep them both would mean a $4 increase
And at 8, it’s still just one DVD at a time
the streaming service is getting better overtime
but, it ain’t that nice to start forcing a shift
when a lot of what I want to stream, I still can’t get
starts now for new members, 9/1 for old
now come on Netflix, don’t be so cold

The beat goes on…

Just a brief update on what I’ve been up to, as I’m currently between home studios. First off, I’m psyched to say that I’ll be performing at this year’s DEFCON in Las Vegas. So that’s pretty sweet. Once again, along side Dual Core. Wear your protective face masks people; faces will be singed.

Look for me on an upcoming Megaran project. Madhatter just dropped a song from the John Henry Complex, “Drop The Hammer” which features some of my scratching. Oh, I also produced and appeared on songs with fellow Scrub Clubbers Funky49 & King Pheenix. So check for their respective upcoming releases. And the true queen of Nerdcore, Diabeats is currently writing to a beat of mine. Yeah, huh.

So while you may not have heard much from me personally, I have been quite busy. Most of the beats for my next full-length release are done. Still much wrangling to do, but I’ve got Diabeats, ‘Hatter, Dual Core, and Random slated to guest, so far. My goal with the new album is to show folks a different side musically, while taking them on a fun, geeky (at times slightly twisted) ride.

In the meantime, I’m relocating to San Francisco. By the end of June, I’ll be hitting up Frye’s and chowing at In’N Out with the rest of those crazy kids;)

That’s it for now!

iFanboy Reviews This Man…This Emcee!

excerpt:

Marvel vs. DC isn’t a lyrical exercise in deciding which is better, but a plea to realize how much we all have in common. New Sincerity deals with discovering your path in life and being true to yourself. Nerd Corps is a hyperactive call to arms for the nerds of the world to join together. The most clever moment of the EP belongs to Sad Ultron, where WarRock weaves a tale about seeking acceptance around the long time Avengers foe. The catchy Johnny Wanderin’ delves back into introspection about your role in the world. These topics seem awfully heavy but Adam shows a quick wit that defuses any threat of getting too deep into navel gazing.
